Where To Visit

Etz Ahayim Synagogue – It is located in Ortaköy, next to the European leg of the Bosphorus Bridge. The name Etz Ahayim also means the Tree of Life. Sigagog burned completely in a fire on the night of the night of Atonement in 1941. Only the Torah Rolls are stored. In the garden of the Etz Ahayim Synagogue, there were also three midrusses (small synagogues) where daily worship was performed. The present synagogue building has been obtained by combining two of them, Midrash Haverim and Midrash Tendency of Tulumbacilar - Tenekeciler Guild.
At the beginning of 1990s, as a result of settlement preferences for the districts of Ortakoy, Ulus, Etiler and Akatlar in the neighborhood of Ortaköy, the synagogue building, which is both small and very old, was renewed and opened to worship on Sunday, March 20, 1994 with Minha's prayer.  Visits can be made with previous appointments and weekdays and Shabbat services can also participate in the same way.  The Etz Ahayim Synagogue was registered as a work that must be protected by the decision of the Board of Monuments

Bet Yaakov Synagogue – Bet Yaakov, known as Kuzguncuk Synagogue, is one of the important values ??of this place. Kuzguncuk is considered by the European Jews as "the last stop before reaching the Holy Land". In the fire of 1865, Kuzguncuk returns to ruin. 500 houses and shops become ash. The synagogue is built in 1878. Although the Jewish settlement in Kuzguncuk settled in various places over time, the Jews of Kuzguncuk came here on Saturday mornings for the Sabbath ritual; worship.
The synagogue, which had to be closed due to the absence of a congregation, was reopened in 1980. The six-pointed Hazret-i Davut star on his door or Mühr-ü Süleyman with his name in Muslim terminology is worth seeing. In the synagogue today, morning prayers, circumcision, 'vijola' is called the ceremony for newborn boys and girls, 'bat mitzvah' girls called the celebration of the birth of religious children and funeral programs such as the organization continues.

Grand Bazaar – ( Kapali Çarsi in Turkish ) The Grand Bazaar is the largest  covered  bazaar in the World. Grand Bazaar's colors, lights and sounds create an exotic and unique atmosphere. in the 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops which attract colorful shops offering an endless range of jewelery, fabrics, carpet, antique shops, leather wear, spices and local crafts.
